Fanny Lumsden has built her career the old-fashioned way: long drives, country halls and years spent taking her songs directly to regional audiences. Now, the ARIA-winning singer-songwriter is turning her attention to the traditions that shaped her, announcing her fifth studio album, Traditions, due out October 30.

Lumsden will launch the album with an outdoor show at the Tooma Recreation Grounds in the NSW Riverina on October 31, before heading out on an East Coast tour throughout November. Presale tickets will be available from 10am on Wednesday, August 5, with general public tickets on sale from 10am Friday, August 7. Traditions is out October 30. Pre-order here. 

This tour begins on Narigo land  in Tooma or Toomba which means ‘Mother Nature’  - we then travel to Geelong through the lands of the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation,  the Brataualung and the Bunurong people of Gunaikurnai Nation as we arrive in Meeniyan - a word derived from an indigenous word Maneyanin which means ‘moon’  and as we head to Castlemaine, we find ourselves on the lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung people of Kulin Nation. As we head north, we arrive in the traditional country of the Kabi Kabi and Jinibara Peoples to Coloundra which means ‘beautiful headland’ then onto Murwillumbah which sits on the traditional lands of the Bundjalung Nation, home of the Moorang-Moobar, Goodjinburra, and Tul-gi-gin people. Murwillumbah is said to mean ‘Good Campsite’ or ‘Place of Many Possums’. Heading to Port Macquarie, we will travel on land of the Birpai people then we continue south to Bathurst and enter Wiradjuri land, the people of the three rivers.  Arriving in Milton, we travel through lands of Dhurga, Walbanja, and Wadandian people of Yuin Nation. The tour concludes in Newcastle, lands of the Awabakal and Worimi peoples finally to Tamworth - land of the Kamilaroi people.
